Skip sizes you can book for skip hire Bristol
There are six different skip hire sizes available for you to book online in Bristol.
These sizes are:
4 yard skip, 6 yard skip, 8 yard skip, 12 yard skip, 14 yard skip and a 16 yard skip.
The size of the skip you need will depend on the amount of waste you have as well as what the waste is. For example, a mini skip is suitable for small household jobs, such as clearing out a cupboard or doing a small amount of gardening. A midi skip is perfect for larger household jobs, such as a kitchen or bathroom refurbishment. If you’re undertaking a major project, such as a house extension or office clearance, then you’ll need to book a maxi skip, which is anything over 12 yards.
Bristol skip hire permit costs and whether you'll need one
A skip permit is needed from your local council if you do not have a driveway or other private land where the skip can be placed. In Bristol and the rest of the UK, an 8-yard skip is the largest skip size that can go onto public roads, even with a permit, to ensure safety for other road users.
If you need your skip on the road, we will arrange the permit from the council for you. If you book your skip online, select that the skip will be on the road, and the permit cost will be automatically added to your order. We will only charge you the amount that the council charges us for these permits, which differs from council to council.
